Sweetened with Honey –
Fruit Smoothies Are a Win for Kids!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Give your kids a good start to the day by making them a fruit smoothie, sweetened with health-promoting Bee Wild honey. Experiment with fruits that are organic, local and seasonal. Try different honeys to see which flavor you like best. Make sure that you use unsweetened organic juice, a light herbal tea, or filtered water for the liquid in your smoothies. Freezing the fruit when freshly purchased, sealing it in an airtight container, and then using the frozen fruit as ice cubes in the smoothie recipe will give your smoothie a milk shake consistency.
Health Benefits of Yogurt
QueenBee: My great aunt who was born in Switzerland introduced our family to the healthy benefits of fermented dairy, fruits, and veggies. So, when I decided to move to even greater levels of health, I began working with raw organic milk and making my own yogurt and kefer. I’ve tried several recipes on and off for the past year and find homemade yogurt to be far superior to store bought.
The pre- and probiotics in these fermented dairy products support gut health while giving you a “predigested source” for nutrients like calcium. In my research, I found a great article about the health benefits of yogurt in Fitness Magazine online. Here is the post.

Notes
In the early summer berries as well as cherries and peaches are seasonal and are available locally. You can buy extra fruit, freeze it, and store it in air tight containers to make smoothies that remind you of summer. I've been using Bee Wild Wildflower Honey with my berries and putting a touch of vanilla in my smoothies.
