John Wright, the owner of Bee Wild, eats very clean and is learning to cook. Luckily, he loves to eat raw food. Since he has a very busy schedule, making nutritious, delicious meals quickly works for him. We’ve tinkered around using our raw honey, with this recipe from one of our favorite clean foodie sites, http://www.theyummylife.com.
Refrigerator Oatmeal with Raw Honey
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Organic Rolled Oats (This is also called, “Old-Fashioned Oats.”)
- 1 1/2 tsp. Chia Seeds
- 1/4 cup Organic Greek Yogurt
- 1/3 cup Organic Almond or Coconut Milk (We use unsweetened Vanilla flavored milk.)
- 1/4 cup Organic Blueberries
- 1/4 cup Organic Strawberries (quartered)
- 2 tsp. Bee Wild Raw Wildflower Honey (We’ve tried various amounts. So, add honey according to your taste.)
- 1 Pint Size Mason Jar (clean)
Instructions
- Add the oats and chia seeds to the jar. Stir until all chia seeds are mixed in; otherwise, they will clump when you add the wet ingredients Add the yoghurt, milk, and raw honey. Stir again. Add the berries on the top. Screw the lid on the jar and refrigerate overnight. Before eating, stir the berries into the raw oatmeal. Taste for sweetness – you may want to add more Bee Wild Raw Wildflower Honey.
- We found that the berries breakdown after awhile, so we recommend eating the raw oatmeal within three days. Remember, this is a “grab and go” breakfast, so you can eat this nutritious meal on the run!
