Honey Pink Peppercorn Compound Butter
In my last blog post, one of the tips I talk about is the value of make-ahead compound butters to cut cooking times. With a few compound butters in your freezer, you can transform a grilled meat or veggies into a gourmet treat! Here’s a recipe for Honey Pink Peppercorn Compound Butter. Are Pink Peppercorns Healthy?
I found this very interesting article on the Spiceography website, where they talk about the health benefits of pink peppercorns. In the article they say:
While there is not a lot of data on the full nutritional value of pink pepper, there is a lot showing that they contain a variety of phenolic compounds that can have major health benefits. Analysis of pink peppercorns shows that they contain anthocyanins, bioflavonoids along with gallic acid.
The Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 sticks slightly softened butter
- 3 tbsp Bee Wild Honey (pick the honey you like, see note.)
- 1 tbsp Pink Peppercorns
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients.
- Adjust your salt and pepper to taste.
- Make a log of the flavored butter on a piece of wax or parchment paper.
- Roll the ends tightly and then put in a freezer bag and freeze.
- When you want to flavor proteins or veggies, slice a piece off the log and put it on the hot food.
Notes
When Bobby Flay did this recipe, he used a honey that has little taste.
We are suggesting that you use the Bee Wild Honey that you like.
