Halloween Treat –
Honey Almond Popcorn Balls
Halloween is around the corner, and as a parent, you are probably planning your child’s Trick or Treat adventure. If you are anything like me, you shake your head at the amount of candy kids eat during Halloween because you just know that all that sugar can’t be good for them. What if you had a healthy treat that you could serve at your child’s Halloween Party or offer the kids in your neighborhood? Would that make a difference? That’s why we are offering a healthy alternative to candy, Honey Almond Popcorn Balls.
What I Like about This Healthy Honey Recipe
- Honey replaces white sugar. I like the idea that a sweetener also is anti-bacterial, anti-viral. There are lots of benefits when your kids eat honey instead of white sugar. See our post, “Is Honey Good for Kids?”
- Another plus is that the protein in almond butter brings balance.
- I also love adding unrefined sea or Himalayan salt to our food and drinking water. My health mentor, an award-winning doctor, says that the sodium in naturally collected salt supports the adrenals, a good thing with all the stressful changes going on in the world.
- By the way, cinnamon helps turn up the heat in your digestive system. It’s a good spice to add to your food to burn fat.
With visions of my niece and nephew in hyper-activity during Halloween, I share this healthy Halloween Treat courtesy of the folk at Thrive Market.
