Honey-Baked Figs
Fall fruits are bountiful – pears, apples, figs, and so on. All of these fruits bake well with honey as a sweetener. This recipe for Honey-Baked Figs can be used for pears and apples, too.

The Recipe
Honey-Baked Figs
Ingredients
- 12 ripe Black Mission figs, stemmed and halved lengthwise
- Organic Butter
- 3 tablespoons Bee Wild orange blossom honey
- 3 tablespoons fresh squeezed organic orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon grated peeled fresh organic ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large organic navel oranges, peeled and sectioned
- 1/2 cup organic heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 tablespoons superfine sugar
- 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
- Mint leaves
Instructions
- Butter an 8" square baking dish with organic butter. I use a piece of waxed paper to smear the butter all over the baking dish.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Combine honey, orange juice, ginger, and vanilla in a bowl. Whisk until the honey dissolves.
- Arrange figs cut side down in the baking dish and pour the honey sauce over the figs.
- Bake the figs for 10 minutes and then turn them over. Bake another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the figs cool.
- Add orange slices to the figs and gently stir them in.
- Put medium glass bowl in the refrigerator with your egg beaters.
- When the bowl and beaters are cold, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Add sugar and grand marnier.
- Beat the cream mixture until stiff peaks are formed.
- Divide the baked fruit and orange mixture in individual dessert bowls.
- Top with cream and a sprig of mint.
