From Strippaggio – Lemon Vinaigrette
Bee Wild often works with one of our retailers, Strippaggio, to show how extra virgin olive oil, honey, and other food products can be paired. During our last visit, Strippaggio developed two salad dressings using ingredients available from their store and our raw honey. This recipe for Lemon Vinaigrette uses their lemon olive oil and our Tupelo honey to make a delicious vinaigrette.
What Are the Health Benefits of Olive Oil?
When I was researching the health benefits of olive oil, I found a great post by one of the doctors from the Mayo Clinic. I like the common sense approach of “moderation in all things” and “adding something healthy to something unhealthy doesn’t make it healthy” in this post. Dr. Hensrud also gave a clear explanation of what a monounsaturated fat is.
The Recipe
We highly recommend a visit to Strippaggio. I had a lot of fun trying the different olive oils and came up with all kinds of recipe ideas when there. We will also let you know the next time we are doing a honey tasting at the store.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Strippaggio Lemon Olive Oil (if you can't get lemon olive oil, here's how to make it )
- 1/4 cup Katz Savignon Blanc Wine Vinegar
- 2 tbsp. Minced Organic Shallots
- 2 tsp. Stock and Pantry Gentlemen's Mustard
- 1 tsp. Bee Wild Raw Tupelo Honey
Instructions
- Mix the last four ingredients in a blender.
- Slowly add the Lemon Olive Oil.
- Blend for another minute.
- Serve on seasonal greens and vegetables.
